Balestrate
The Sicilian coastal town of Balestrate is situated on the Golfo di Castellammare and has two beautiful sandy beaches, one of which extends all the way to Castellammare del Golfo, a famous coastal town with a quaint harbor. In the summer months there are several lidos (where you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas) but the main part of the beaches are free of charge. Balestrate also has the second largest marina in the whole of Sicily.

Castellammare del Golfo
A long time ago, the charming Castellammare del Golfo on the Golfo di Castellammare, used to be the port for the towns of Erice and Segesta. Later it became an Arab fortress. The port – which is dominated by the castello – is the biggest attraction of the town: in the early morning you see the fishermen go out to sea in their typical white-blue fishing boats, to later return with delicious fresh fish. From the harbor you can go on organized boat trips, but you can also rent your own boat if you want to explore the Golfo di Castellammare on your own.

Trappeto
Trappeto is a small fishing village on the Golfo di Castellammare. The most beautiful locations in this Sicilian coastal town are the old part of Trappeto, the boulevard, where you can enjoy a nice sea breeze and beautiful sea view and the old harbor with the typical blue and white fishing boats. Trappeto has beautiful sandy beaches, one on the east side of the village (near Villa Ponzini) and the other on the west side. In the summer months there are several lidos (where you can rent a sun lounger and umbrella). The main part of the beach is free of charge.
